The Accommodation

“Mon Rêve ” is a lovingly run home in the village of Merligen, only a few steps from Lake Thun.


The stylishly furnished private room is ideal for 2 guests and offers:


  • two comfortable single beds
  • a private en-suite bathroom with shower
  • shampoo & shower gel
  • Nespresso coffee machine & tea

Please note: There are no cooking facilities in the room, and preparing your own meals, for example with portable cooking devices, is not permitted.


Garden & Surroundings

The well-maintained, fenced garden with a beautiful view of Lake Thun and the mountains invites you to relax, read, or simply unwind.


The cosy covered outdoor seating area is especially popular — perfect for breakfast, a glass of wine in the evening, or just enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.


The garden is shared. However, as we usually spend our time on our private upper terrace, our guests typically have the garden almost to themselves.


In addition, “Mon Rêve” is located close to the St. James’ Way (Camino de Santiago), making it an ideal stopover for hikers and pilgrims.

"Mon Rêve” is located in the idyllic village of Merligen:


  • Lake Thun: approx. 2 minutes on foot
  • Bus stop: approx. 1 minute on foot
  • Thun: approx. 30 minutes
  • Interlaken: approx. 30 minutes
  • Adelboden: approx. 1 hour


The accommodation is an ideal starting point for:


  • hiking
  • walks
  • swimming trips
  • winter sports
  • excursions to Interlaken, Grindelwald, or the Bernese Oberland. The St. James’ Way / Camino de Santiago is also located nearby.

Upon request and subject to availability, we also offer:

  • picnic basket for 2 people – CHF 49 
  • e-bike rental – CHF 40 per e-bike per day
  • tandem stand-up paddle rental – CHF 50 per day, suitable for up to 2 people, life jackets included


All extras are available upon request and subject to availability. Please let us know as early as possible if you are interested.


Please note: The use of e-bikes and the stand-up paddle is at your own risk. Good swimming skills are required for the stand-up paddle.

The room is accessed via a separate entrance through the garden. A flexible self check-in is available via a personal door code, which will be provided before arrival. Other areas of the house are private and not accessible to guests.

Garten & Umgebung

Der gepflegte, eingezäunte Garten mit wunderschönem Blick auf den Thunersee und die Berge lädt zum Entspannen, Lesen oder Verweilen ein. Besonders beliebt ist der gemütliche, überdachte Aussensitzplatz – perfekt für Frühstück, ein Glas Wein am Abend oder einfach zum Geniessen der ruhigen Atmosphäre.

Der Garten wird gemeinschaftlich genutzt. Da wir uns jedoch meist auf unserer privaten oberen Terrasse aufhalten, geniessen unsere Gäste den Garten in der Regel fast für sich allein.

Zusätzlich liegt „Mon Rêve“ in der Nähe des Jakobswegs, was es zu einem idealen Zwischenstopp für Wanderer und Pilger macht.

Gäste haben Zugang zum privaten Zimmer, dem eigenen Badezimmer sowie zum Garten mit überdachter Sitzecke. Der Zugang erfolgt über einen separaten Eingang durch den Garten. Ein flexibler Self-Check-in ist schlüssellos über einen persönlichen Code möglich, der vor der Anreise mitgeteilt wird. Andere Bereiche des Hauses sind privat und nicht zugänglich.

We are Anika & Mathias, and we live in this house ourselves, here in Merligen.

"Mon Rêve" is our home

quietly located, close to nature and just a few steps from Lake Thun.

As we genuinely enjoy welcoming and taking care of guests, we consciously decided to offer a private room within our home.

Mathias brings many years of experience from the hotel and hospitality industry, while Anika creates a warm and comfortable atmosphere with great attention to detail, ensuring that our guests feel at ease from the very first moment.

A warm and relaxed atmosphere is important to us – personal yet unobtrusive, with plenty of space for privacy.

Spending time outdoors and being active in nature is something we truly enjoy, whether it’s hiking, winter sports, climbing or bouldering.

Upon request, we are also happy to share our personal tips for excursions and activities around Lake Thun and the surrounding region.
